About Me

Joseph Nieves: I became the Lead Pastor of Transformation Church, Orange County, Middletown, NY on May 3, 2009. Previously I served as the Lead Pastor of churches in Western Massachusetts and Boston. I also served as a Youth Pastor in Providence, RI. I was born in the Bronx, NY, and have a Puerto Rican heritage. I met my beautiful wife Ruth in September 1990 at Orange County Community College, Middletown, NY. Married in June 1997. I have two awesome sons, Joey age 11, and Josiah 5, and Seth who went to be with Jesus on April 10, 2004. I graduated SUNY Orange with a degree in Police Science. I also attended John Jay College of Criminal Justice. I wanted to be in the NY State Police, but after a radical encounter with Christ at Times Square Church, NYC in 1992, God changed my course in life. Instead of arresting people, I now set them free. In 1993 I enrolled in Zion Bible College and earned a B.A. in Biblical Studies. I intend to begin pursuing my Master's with Southeastern University. My passion and dream is to build a church that reaches people far from God and lead them to become fully devoted followers of Jesus.
